1. Custom Sound Files on Live Bars

We plan to let you add custom sounds to Live Bars from within manage.imraising.com; however, we won’t release this feature for quite awhile. In the meantime, you can add custom sounds to your Live Bar by following this easy tutorial. It should only take about 10 minutes.

Step 1: Enable Live Bar Sound

    1. Log into manage.imraising.com.

    2. Click My Widgets.

    3. Find your Live Bar and then click Edit.

    4. Scroll to the bottom of the page. Under Animated Messages, set Live Bar sound to True.

    5. Click Publish.

    Step 2: Copy Live Bar

    1. Click My Widgets.

    2. Find your Live Bar and then click View.

    3. Right click the page and then click View Page Source.

    4. Copy the entirety of the text.

    Step 3: Enable Custom Sound

    1. Paste the text into a text editor that supports numbered lines. Notepad++ is a free, suitable text editor for Windows. jEdit is a great alternative for Mac and Linux.

    2. Find lines 188-190.

    3. On lines 188-190, you’ll find the following snippet of code:
      var mySound = new buzz.sound( “http://imraising.com/common/audio/chime”, {
      formats: [ “ogg”, “mp3” ]

    4. Replace http://imraising.com/common/audio/chime with the URL of your custom sound file. Your custom sound file must be in the mp3 file format. Additionally, delete the file format (i.e. .mp3) at end of the URL.

    5. Delete lines 29-32.

    6. Anywhere on lines 29-32, type: var deltaTime = 0

    7. Save the file in the .html file format. If you don’t have the option to save the file in this format, when you’re saving, add .html to the end of the file name (i.e. test.html).

    8. To view your Live Bar locally, open the file in your preferred web browser. To view your Live Bar online, upload your file to a website, and then view the file.

When you’ve completed all of these steps, your Live Bar will play a custom sound file every time you receive a donation. Please note, only your edited Live Bar will play the custom sound file. The Live Bar hosted on manage.imraising.com will continue to play the default sound file.
